Neurology is the medical specialty that investigates and treats conditions affecting the nervous system including the brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerves. Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation specialists (“Physiatrists”) often evaluate and manage patients with joint or back pain, spasticity, injuries and brain trauma. At NeuroCare Center we have five board certified Neurologists, one board certified Physiatrist and several Advanced Practice Providers on staff. We evaluate and treat adults and children with many types of ailments including neurological problems, sleep disorders, injuries and musculoskeletal problems.
The physicians of NeuroCare Center provide neurological services to patients in Stark, Tuscarawas, Wayne, Holmes and Summit Counties. Patients are treated at Aultman Hospital and Mercy Medical Center. Our physicians have served as leaders of medical staffs at Aultman Hospital and Mercy Medical Center, including being members of the Board of Directors, Presidents of Medical Staffs and Department Heads. They have also been in charge of the Rehabilitation Units, Stroke Services and Neurology Departments. We are proud of our involvement in Stark County's excellent medical community.
History In 1995, NeuroCare Center was created as a merger of Stark County Neurologists. It was established by Drs. James Burkholder and Jay Berke in 1978, which also included Drs.
